Lately I’ve been disappointed in my figure photography “skills”. I have a decent camera but still have much to learn about composition, lighting, etc. Especially lighting — I don’t even have lamps or diffuser boxes. Up until this point I’ve been relying on natural sunlight and whatever lighting the room I happen to be in provides.
I think I really started to rethink my commitment to figure photography after I took photos of my Mayushii nendo and uploaded them to deviantART and myfigurecollection.net. I saw just how much more professional-looking many of the photos were than mine. I don’t necessarily think I have to be the best, but I don’t like my work looking so sub-par.
